Ian's Continental Divide Trail Adventure

g | ve | y!
Ian, who's a badass, hiked part of the Contential Divide Trail in June and August '05 with naught but a GPS, dog, sidearm, and girlfriend.
He took pictures. Here're the mappy points (click 'em) and some Google Earth placemarks (kmz),(screenshot).

About this: Ian went these places and got UTM coords off of his GPS (see the pictures). A little help from Professor Dutch's UTM conversion page found on-line and latitude and longitude points were had. A bit o' Google Maps API (plus the XMaps API extension) and some slight of hand Google Earth KML generation and there you have it.

11/03/2005 - Y! Maps version started. People, stop with the APIs!
11/02/2005 - Added a few descriptions to the KML, added route line, fixed IE polyline issue with Maps
11/01/2005 - Also, working on a Microsoft Visual Earth version.
